influence the junior dorm to set off the fire alarm with deodorant.
we were all bored. just another night, nothing much happening. we were listing things to do.
-run around be naughty with the supervisor looking fo rus to put us to bed
-have a party in someones room
-sit in front of the heater (it was getting cold)
-blast our music and have someone keep watch for the supervisor, turning it off when she came into the dorm.
but i regret what slipped out of my mouth.
'why dont we set off the fire alarm with deodorant?
yes it was stupid. it was in fact the worst idea i had ever come up with. i tried doing the change the subject thing, but the others couldnt hear me coz they were excited and giglling about how good itl be. i thought. yeah why am i so uptight?
so one of the girls took my deodorant into another girls room, both laughing, my head was in my pillow, giggling. when all the sirens sounded.
there we were out in the cold. bad idea. the head of boarding, in her nightie came, looking furious, badd idea. the fire people found the deodorant can in the room, bad idea. they ruledd it as a prank. bad idea. we forgot that it was in the dorm, so us girls were the only ones responsible. once again, bad idea.
one of the girls, (5 of us) who we didnt really talk to, got scared and decided we should own up. i thought about my dad, he was always threatening to send me back to samoa, go to a village school in the rural villages, people talking a lingo i didnt understand. and he was serious.
i told the girl why should we? she just kept whingeing till we all agreed to do it.
i thought because we went and owned up to the supervisor, punishment would be lighter. they knew we did it, but for us to own up, maybe we could just get dishes for a month.
well, the supervisor told the head mistress she made us confess (lie) that she found out because she overheard us (lie) and that we had no remorse (lie, we felt a little bit) then she said we had sweared at her (big fat lie)
we all bet she lied because we were naughty, (we call it having fun, running around).
so we sat there, all frozen in fear, as our punishments were told.
-work off the fire alarm bill
-write a sorry letter
-parents were going to be contacted (i nearly fainted)
- we were not allowed to talk or interact with anyone for a moth (i had to put up with my older brother's disapointed glares,)
- we were to sit at our own table and get food last (that was not punishment, we just sat there at our own table laughing and chatting quietly)
-bedtimes were 8.30 (usually 9.30)
- at homework time, we were separated. i unfortunately got the table near the senior study glass doors, had to put up with all these greasy looks...
-no street leave unless we needed something like shampoo or soap or other things. and when we came back, our bags were checked to make sure we didnt buy chips or any other yummy goodness.
my dad, well, for ages it was ranting until i finally realised something.
the seniors could of had a course exam the next day. they were woken at 11pm for us silly girls to have fun.
my dad had to pay an expensive fire bill. he wasnt working and couldnt because he was sick.
everyone besides us thought it was real and were freaking out, there could of been injuries.
this one hit me like a mak truck. my own brother had glandular fever.
all i can say was i have learnt from that. it was 3 years ago. in that 3 years i can honestly say us five have grown up. that quickly too. back then i thought how mean they treated us for a little joke.
its all part of growing up,
so, :) next time, for f*** sake, please if your gonna have fun, think of how others are gonna be affected if they dont choose to be. if they choose to be part of it, then they can oonly blame themselves.
laters haters
